Book Beginnings on Friday

Another stab at participating in a book meme or two brought me to Book Beginnings on Friday. This is a meme hosted by Katy from A Few More Pages. Instructions are pretty clear: just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

And thus I shall begin with Jon Reiner's The Man Who Couldn't Eat

I'm a glutton in a greyhound's body.

Doesn't that conjure up a deliciously interesting visual?! Reading this book has been an eye-opener to the devastating world of Crohn's disease. Reiner documents his world incredibly well and anxious to get back to the story this weekend.

  1. My mother has Crohn's disease. Maybe I should pick this one up. Shari over at My Neurotic Book Affair

  2. Hi Shari, He doesn't go in-depth about the disease itself but rather focuses on his psychological relationship with food and how it plays out in relation to his physical relationship with the disease. I just finished it tonight and found it a quick and enlightening read.
